    Description

    Bencher Exposure Booth
Tungsten Lighting Small Product Light Tent.
Tabletop Photography will never be the same.
The 1st three photos are of the Bencher Exposure Booth, taken directly from the catalog.
The rest are photos I took using it. These additional items are not included,
They are simply to show results I was able to achieve using it.
This Unique unit was manufactured early 90's in Chicago.
Built like a tank, similar to another famous Chicago products "Schwinn Bicycles".
Bencher is no longer in the Photography Business.
They now produce Ham Radio Antennas & Equip.
The Massive Tent Unit is made of a Sturdy Rigid Plastic.
Housed inside, behind 24" x 24" Translucent Acrylic Panels, Top, Left & Right are (3) 250W 3200K Tungsten Lights with an integrated Reflector System. Each light is independently switched and an exhaust fan is wired into each light circuit.
Included is an Accessory Called a Translucent Sweep. This is a Translucent Acrylic Panel which fits in a Base to hold it in the curved position to provide a Seamless Background. I
t's doing the same job as would Seamless Paper. The difference is that it provides for a Diffused Translucent Surface that would not be possible when just using Seamless Paper.
There's also an Integrated 27" Rolled Paper Holder at the rear, if you prefer to use Seamless Paper.
A 4th Light, with Barn Doors which takes either a 250w or a 600w bulb is used to illuminate from the bottom, attaching to the stand to illuminate up through the Removable Translucent Sweep's Floor, or a Translucent Floor you provide.
We have included three extra 250 watt bulbs & two extra 600 watt bulbs.
Recently I have been pondering the possibility of modifying the Exposure Booth to use Daylight balanced LED lighting elements. Since LED's are available that can change the color, the possibilities at least in my mind were quite interesting. Also the possibility of elimination of the substantial heat created by the Halogen Bulbs interested me, at least in the Summer, while in the Winter I welcomed the reduction in my heating bill. LOL!
The Sides, Top & Back all have rails accepting the same sized 24" x 24" Panels.  Since any available Acrylic can be used, there is also the possibility of the  Introduction of Multiple varied Colored Acrylic Filtering of the light sources, for dramatic Effects.
A Panel sized @  27 1/2" x 26", either opaque or translucent in any color can be utilized as a Floor if desired. A frosted transparent acrylic back panel could be utilized to allow Projections to be superimposed as a background.
The adaptability is unbelievable, if you can imagine it, you can probably do it.
    The Interior Dimensions of the Tent are approx 27.5"W x 27.5"H x 26" D.
Providing ample room for any type of Small to Medium size Product Photography.
Both Still & Motion Photography will find a multitude of uses. I can even imagine that Claymation artists would find this device to be an great production asset.
The stand is made of STEEL and currently has 4 Heavy Duty Locking Casters installed, although it comes standard with Four Height Adjustable Leveling Legs.
Since All the electrical Connections and Switching for the 4 Lights and 3 Fans are internal, The unit also incorporates a Panel Fuse & 3 Prong Supply Cord.
I have used the Exposure Booth to photograph items for sale on my own website.
It would also be quite useful for someone selling small products here on ebay.
If you need to produce high quality photographs of items that would fit, with ample room to spare, into the dimensions listed, this unit will be a godsend.
You'll no longer be burdened by the problems with shadows & uneven lighting.
You products will take on a professional look never attainable by simply photographing them on table top, or floor. I use Colored Fabrics i.e Black Velvet to make the background simply disappear. See photos # 's  5,6 & 8
This is not a Copy Stand, since the Camera can not be made to look straight down on an item. You are shooting either straight at an item from the front, level,  or from a raised vantage point. You can either use a Tripod, or Shoot Handheld.
The following text is from the Bencher Brochure:
