    Offered here is a vintage original oversized pressbook from the silent film western adventure/drama romance
    BROKEN CHAINS
    , released in 1922 by the Goldwyn Distributing Company and directed by Allen Holubar.
    When a woman friend's jewels are stolen, young Peter Wyndham (
    Malcolm McGregor
    ) is too afraid to try to stop the theft. Sickened by his own cowardice, he leaves town and heads west for a new start. There, he meets up with a brute named Boone (
    Ernest Torrence
    ), who beats him in a fight. When Peter discovers that Boone is keeping his young daughter (
    Colleen Moore
    ) chained up like a slave, he must overcome his own timidity to try to rescue her.
    This vintage original oversized pressbook measures 13.5 x 21.5 in. and consists of 10 double-sided pages. The front cover depicts an image of the original window card created to advertise this film and features a full-length image of
    Colleen Moore
    with her hands and feet in shackles are she looks frightened. The inside front cover features images of various-sized posters to advertise the film including the 1-sheet, rotogravure 1-sheet, 3-sheet, 6-sheet, and 24-sheet billboard poster. The interior pages features many images from the film along with various advertising ideas for theater owners to implement to promote the film. The double-sided pages 7/8 have the top half of those pages missing. The interior back cover features images of the complete 8-card lobby card set, the "coming attraction" glass slide, various heralds, and the film's trailer. The outer back cover features an illustration of Miss Moore at the top with various information about the film.
    This vintage original pressbook is missing the herald that would have been included inside. It is in fair condition only and has one hard horizontal foldline through the center as well as one vertical foldline. Some of the interior pages have split along the horizontal foldlines and there is approximately 2.5 in. of separation at the top and bottom of the spine. The front cover has a 6 in., 4.5 in. and 2 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner; small vertical tears along the bottom edge; and signs of wear on the bottom corners. The back cover has several 2 in. diagonal creases on the bottom left corner; a 1 in. vertical tear on the bottom edge; and small diagonal creases on each top corner.
